Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) launched the Sekar Pace Bhumi batik which he dedicated specifically to the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Friday (04/10).
The launch of this batik coincided with National Batik Day which is commemorated every October 2 every year.
“On this batik day, a special batik was designed, which is part of the memory and dedication of the Ministry of ATR/BPN to batik day.
This batik was specially designed by Annisa, which was given the name Batik Sekar Pace Bhumi, which looks like the one I am wearing,” said Minister AHY while pointing to the batik shirt he wore at the meeting which took place in the Ministerial Meeting Room, on Wednesday (02/10/2024).
Minister AHY explained that the philosophical meaning contained in the batik design, namely Sekar, is taken from several Indonesian flower motifs that symbolize the beauty and nobility of life that is full of diversity, but coexist.
Pace is a symbol of sincerity, loyalty, and devotion of a person in the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation to achieve a noble goal.
“Bhumi is taken from the official logo of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, which is a source of pride and honor for our extended family wherever they are, to serve all Indonesian people in the fields of land and spatial planning.
For progress and mutual prosperity,” concluded the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN.
The launch of this batik was marked by the handover of batik cloth by the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN and the Patron of the Association of Wives of Employees and Female Employees (IKAWATI) ATR/BPN, Annisa Pohan Yudhoyono to the ranks of Middle and Pratama High Leadership Officials.
For your information, since October 2, 2009, UNESCO has designated batik as Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
Then, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) designated the date as National Batik Day through Presidential Decree Number 33 of 2009 and officially issued on November 17, 2009.
National Batik Day itself is an important moment for the Indonesian people, as a form of respect and preservation of the batik cultural heritage that has become part of the nation’s identity.
