Kaligis Gives Input to KPK Selection Committee Regarding Johan Budi, Restore the KPK’s dignity” which was “not good.
Lawyer OC Kaligis gave input to the selection committee (pansel) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding Johan Budi who is running as the chairman of the anti-corruption agency.
“Johan Budi was the spokesperson when KPK leader Agus Raharjo with members Basaria Panjaitan, Alexander Marwata, Saut Situmorang and Laode Muhammad Syarif,” said Kaligis in Jakarta on Sunday.
This is related to Johan Budi currently undergoing a series of tests by the selection committee to become the leader of the KPK after no longer being a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI Perjuangan.
Kaligis said that at that time the KPK’s dignity had been sharply highlighted through the February 2018 DPR RI Right of Inquiry Report and Johan Budi was still serving at the KPK.
According to him, Johan Budi’s covert campaign before passing the KPK selection committee was to “Restore the KPK’s dignity” which was “not good”.
However, the question arose when the KPK’s reputation plummeted according to the findings of the 2018 DPR RI inquiry rights and Johan Budi became part of the KPK, did he succeed in reviving the KPK’s reputation, which turned out to have committed many unlawful acts.
In fact, said Kaligis, who is also an academic at Manado State University (UNM), North Sulawesi, that at that time Johan Budi knew the role of Ade Raharja (the case broker) who was revealed in the Bibit – Chandra Hamzah corruption case.
Likewise, Ade Raharja in the corruption case of Muhammad Nazaruddin, Treasurer of the Democratic Party, had involved Johan Budi to take care of business.
He added that it was proven on September 8, 2018 at the KPK office that Nazaruddin met with journalists, in 2009 at a Japanese restaurant in the Casablanca Apartment, Jakarta, Ade Raharja and Saan Mustafa discussed the hansip uniform project, e-KTP and the Education Operational Assistance (BOS) package.
Kaligis said, in the findings of the DPR’s right of inquiry, how much corruption by KPK officials was known to Johan Budi without putting up a fight.
Meanwhile, before passing the KPK leadership, after officially resigning from the PDI-Perjuangan, Johan Budi’s strong statement regarding the KPK was that “the KPK is not doing well”.
Johan Budi even said he wanted to restore the KPK’s dignity, but is he the only one capable of restoring that dignity.
In addition to sending letter number 764/OCK.IX/2024 to the KPK selection committee, Kaligis also wrote to the KPK Supervisory Board with the aim of being able to help the selection committee in determining or deciding on KPK leadership candidates.
